An Ultra Violet New Years Party
Photography by Candi Noble
Can I just ask... Where did this year go!? I cannot believe it's almost over! I feel a little bit older, a little bit wiser and a little bit more tired, but the party has to continue right? Celebrating life's moments is what keeps me moving, and what's a better way to say goodbye to 2017 than with a super fun and colorful NYE party!
I must say that when Pantone announced the color of 2018, I got inspired to create a NYE party, but with a little twist... instead of using the traditional gold, black, and white palette, I decided to feature 2018's color of the year, ultra violet, along with silver and white.
In my family, we always spend NYE with the kids and teens, so this party can be used as inspiration if you're hosting kids and teens or even if your party is for adults only! It works for everyone!
Let's start with the best part... desserts! They were all, of course, made by my sweet friend Martha from
Sweet Carousel Cakes here in Austin. For this celebration we decided to go with a striped white and gray 10" cake with a white 6" cake decorated with some fun ultra violet and silver "confetti" on top!
For the topper she made some fun shaped swirls!
She also made me these adorable vanilla cupcakes with some cute clocks, reminding us that the time is almost here!
Cookies and cake pops are always a must...
I love balloons, so I added some on both sides of the table to make it more fun. I found these holographic, star- shaped balloons and I was instantly obsessed! They are a must, and I got them here. I also added a cute "CELEBRATE" banner that I got at Target in the Dollar Spot as well as some paper fans.
For the last touch I added some iridescent ornaments and filled them up with grape juice! I absolutely LOVE how the ultra violet colors reflected on them! If you're wondering where I got the clear stands... they are from Oriental Trading and you can find them here.
How cute is this head band? Gotta love Target!
Now, lets move on to the guests' table.... I wanted to continue using the same colors and I found some lovely party paper goods at one of my favorite online party stores: BerryPom and James. She carries really cute stuff like these holographic paper plates that I adore. I also got the cups, wooden cutlery, napkins and straws from there!
And you know me... I had to add more to my table!
I found these fun silver crowns at Target's Dollar Spot and I couldn't resist using them as table decor. I also added a dark purple rock candy stick that looked great with all the holographic decor.
How about that cute stirrer? I love disco ball decor and it fits in perfectly with a New Year's party! My bestie, Susan, from Sugar Parties LA sells them on her etsy shop!
As centerpieces, I used some ultra violet and white honeycombs that you can find here.
This is a picture of the whole table set up. You can also see that I added some disco balls, custom tassels and Silver Foil horns.
This is a picture of both tables together! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed styling this NYE's party!
I really hope you are loving the Ultra Violet color for the 2018 color of the year, because I know I am!
I'm wishing you all the best for new year: lots of love, laughter, and of course... parties!
