Activity Ideas for an Entertaining Easter Celebration
Photography by Chris Lammert
Recently I posted one of my favorite Spring celebrations we’ve ever done - this amazing “Hoppy Easter'“ Bunny-Themed Easter Party. Now, I’m excited to share some of the fun activities we planned for that spring soiree! These ideas include activities for both children and adults. I hope you’ll be inspired for your own entertaining celebrations!
Inflatable Play Areas
One of the easiest ways to keep kids entertained is with inflatable play areas. But don’t feel limited to the typical bounce houses of your childhood - many places offer a variety of amazing inflatables! For this celebration, we used both large and small inflatable slides to cater to children of all ages that would be at the party.
It can be a bit challenging to find inflatables that perfectly match your theme, but you can always add some decor to bring in the theme a bit more. In this case we added marquis letters saying “Hoppy Easter” adorned with colorful Easter balloons. We also provided a cute table nearby for kids to get some rest when needed, topped with an Easter candy and floral centerpiece.
Egg Hunt
For any Easter party, an Egg Hunt is the perfect entertainment. You can make it “egg-stra” special by adding a starting point archway, decorated with cute wooden bunnies and spring flowers.
Don’t forget to provide Easter baskets for egg collecting. To make the scene even more cute, we personalized each basket with a name tag and provided fuzzy bunny ear headbands for each child.
Petting Zoo & Feeding Station
Spring is the time when many baby animals are born (which is why they are often associated with Easter!), so an adorable petting zoo is a great idea for a spring celebration. We brought in a petting zoo with a variety of the sweetest animals, incluging bunnies (of course!), chicks, goats, and lambs.
How cute are they with their little pink Easter ribbons?!
To make this area even more entertaining, we also set up a “Hoppy Hour” animal food bar nearby, complete with everything needed to give these cuties a mid-celebration snack.
Build-a-Bouquet or Flower Crown
For the adults at the party, we had a traveling flower truck come in to allow guests to create their own floral bouquets and flower crowns. Not only is this the perfect spring activity that provides guests with take-home favors, but the look of the bright blue truck covered in flowers creates perfect party decor itself!
Having a flower crown station meant guests also had the perfect accessory to wear for all of the photos taken at the party.
Dessert Carts
For something that adults AND children will love, why not provide a fun interactive dessert area? We had two dessert carts, decked out in pastel balloons and bunny decals. One provided on-demand cotton candy, and the other provided Dippin’ Dots style ice cream.
I hope these fun activity ideas inspire you to get creative with your own spring celebrations! Don’t forget to check out my previous blog post to see the whole party!
Wishing you and yours a very “Hoppy” Easter!
