Surprise your Kids with a Back To School Party
We’ve made it to August, and that means it’s Back To School time once again. Parents across the country are busy buying everything on their student’s supply list, packing up lunches and preparing to send kids on to their next grade. But let's don't forget to send them out with a little celebration on their First Day of School. PS: this party theme is also super cute for the graduations of our pre-schoolers and even those elementary students before they head off to the middle school.
Last year, I planned a really sweet little Back To School Bash for my kids. It was so nice to have a little bit of fun before the hustle and bustle of the school year started back up.
I went with modern polka dots mixed with a chalkboard theme, and of course I had to include some apple shapes too. I created the background with some chalkboard paper, and added the “Welcome Back To School” cut outs on circles in a bunch of fun colors.
No party is complete without a ton of yummy sweets! So, for our Back To School Bash, I called my friend Marta from Sweet Carousel Cakes and asked her if she could make some goodies for me.
I served a school themed cake, with a bunch of adorable details including crayons, letters and a sweet little apple. We carried the polka dots and chalkboard theme on to the cake as well.
In addition to the cake, I added some fun Back to School cookies served on chalkboard placemats. We also had a few cupcakes topped with edible school themed toppers!
We served some water in this mason jar dispenser. I used more of the chalkboard paper with a “Hello!” for a pop of color.
To finish up the table, I added polka dot treat bags with Apple bag toppers, I also included some cute letter bead toys that can spell different words.
Then I used a simple “ABC” banner along the front of the table, I made the banner with ribbon that looks like a ruler, perfect for Back To School!
I hope you loved my Back To School Bash as much as we did, and maybe you’ll be inspired to throw your own party this year! Don't forget to sign up for our newsletter, and get access to the Mint Event Design Subscriber’s Lounge!
