Comic Book Superhero Party Ideas
Photography by Candi Noble
Superheroes are everywhere you look right now! Kids of all ages have loved this classic birthday party theme for years, and with the latest Avenger’s movie releasing this weekend you can be sure they're here to stay!
For my party I used a color scheme of a little bit of black and white with lots of shades of reds, yellows, and blues.
Hosted at One Eleven East, this party was inspired by the retro comic book look and the Super Hero Party Goods from DayDream Society matched perfectly. I hung three super capes on a white brick wall as party’s backdrop. Then I attached the colorful lightning bolts to them.
Because I wanted the printable toppers to really POP I asked my baker, Michelle’s Patisserie to keep the desserts simple, just serving white frosted cake and cupcakes.
Of course I also wanted my table to have some color, and these comic book cookies from The Little Cookie Co. were just perfect! My sweet friend Mayra did an amazing job for sure!
To finish off my food table, I used these adorable party boxes from Elimelin filled with treats for the little guests. She was so awesome an exclusively design these 3 different favor boxes that the kids absolutely loved!!
Then to fill in the space a little more, I added some paper lanterns and candy in glass jars placed on a nearby stool. I guess I got too excited and decided to expand the decor a little bit more, without going over board!
I used a white table paired with white metal chairs for my guest table. I attached more of my lightning bolts to the back of the chairs.
Using a white table allows the party ware to really stand out. This party goods from Day Dream Society created the fun and retro look I was going for in this celebration!
I used solid turquoise plates and paired them with yellow napkins and printed dessert plates, then I added blue and yellow cutlery. To fill out the table I used printed cups and paper straws with straw banners, and more of the lightning bolts and other cut outs.
