My Craft Room Reveal
Photography by Amanda North Photography
Hello everyone, hope you are all doing great and that you are starting to feel relaxed and enjoying your summer days!
Today, I wanted to share with you the pretty place I created for myself at home for my crafting needs.
We are a family of six, and you can imagine that space can be limited so I decided to take half of our guest bedroom (including the closet) to transform it into my own little craft space.
This is the closet I was talking about! I bought an IKEA desk that fit perfectly in the closet, then added some shelves on the sides and hung up a peg board on the wall. I also got some hooks and baskets to put on the peg board, all from Home Depot.
As you can see, I added a chevron curtain made to hide all sorts of storage bins that I have that aren’t used on a regular basis.
I must say that vintage items are my favorite things to use when it comes to decorating, but I didn’t really want the whole room to be vintage styled. I decided to add some fun accents and mix them in with some more modern decor.
Take a look!
I have what my kids say, “a mini craft store” where you can find all kinds of crafting goodies from many different brands. One of my favorites is my Heidi Swapp Silicone Craft Mat which I love and that, of course, matches my logo!
I also have a lot of Stampin’Up Punches which I needed to have easy access to, since I use them a lot. I just had to find a way to organize them so that they would look cute. I went to Target and found two white over-the-door hanging shoe organizers which I thought would be perfect. At home, I grabbed some coordinated scrap book paper and punched out all of the shapes I had and then attached it to the organizer with some cute paperclips. I also got some yarn and made tassels to add more accents.
Everything was fitting nicely when I realized I still had more stuff that I needed to store! When I was out and about at one of my favorites shops in town, Barn Dance, I found the cutest furniture ever (lucky me!) and I had to buy it! You can see it on the other side of the closet. It’s a vintage oak cupboard from England. Here I store all my card stock, ink pads from Stampin’ Up, and more crafting goodies.
These are some of the things that I have on the opposite side of the room. Check them out.
You might wonder what I do when we have guests in town. Well, it’s so easy! I simply take out my chair, set it in a corner, and close the closet doors, then voila! No one can see my little crafting space.
There are still things that I would like to change and add but until I get more space, I’ll have to continue crafting in my little closet. Who can relate?
Hope I inspire you to get yourself your own closet and start crafting!
